Featuring more than 600 exhibits representative of graphic design in Britain since the 1960s, the Barbican Art
Gallery exhibit promises to be something spectacular. Though
covering everything from album covers for Brit bands New Order and
Primal scream, posters for CND and the Anti-Nazi League, and identity materials for BBC 2 and the British original
"Big Brother," the collection emphasizes graphic design in magazine and film, including websites for movies
The Guardian and Donnie Darko, and magazines like OZ and i-D.
Running from 16 September 2004 through 23 January 2005, the exhibit will feature the work of a diversity of more than 50 designers, including Alan Fletcher, David Hillman of Pentagram, Ken Garland, Michael English, Jannuzzi Smith, Barney Bubbles, Peter Saville, Neville Brody, The Designer's Republic, Tomato, Fuel, De-Construct, Hi-ReS, and Siobhan Keaney!
Barbican is open daily from 11 - 8, except on Tuesdays and Thursdays when it closes at 6 PM.
