1. hi. I hope it's okay I'm actually posting a question here, but I've tried many different avenues to get this question answered [even calling adobe twice, though once I got a yes answer and then a no answer].

I figure those looking at this post will know the answer right off. again, I hope this is okay.

so my question is this: does imagereay cs2 now allow the export of swf files with all functions [rollovers, links...] intact.

when I bought cs1, one reason I did so is because being I've grown up on the adobe interface, the macromedia interface is sort of counter intuitive. it wasn't until I got the box home and open that I found on page 300 a short mention of lost function with flash export.

if this hole has been fixed I'll be running out in a second to get the upgrade.

so, anyone know?

2. Paul,

Have you tried the Adobe Photoshop CS 2 "tryout" version? It is 307.7MB for the Mac version or 329.1MB for the Windows version, but I am downloading it now (I am still using Photoshop 7) and averaging over 450K per second, so it should not take you long if you have a broadband connection.

3. Paul,

ImageReady CS2 definitely preserves links (URLs added in the Slice palette) when exporting to SWF, but it seems to lose rollover states. If you find a way to make it preserve them, though, please do share.

I'll eventually snag the tryout. I use photoshop mostly in web design so I've wanted to find out if they fixed the hole before making a point of doing it immediately or not.

does anyone know of companies who make plugins or patches for imageready? that may be a place to explore.

5. well, I loaded the tryout. went through the help. took a little searching but I again found their little sentence in a corner saying basically that although they have set up IR to create flash files, that they've crippled it for actual fully functional web use. didn't even reword the terms:

Rollovers are ignored. The exported images do not change when you roll over them.

crazy. hopefully they'll adobe'ize the flash interface. I'm assuming they kept the function crippled so people will still buy flash since they own the company now.

6. I'm looking for a blog designer that can help me get 80 blog site up and running, based on MT with includes etc.
I have a couple websites that I need to redo also
The blog site that I have up now www.HomeImprovementblogs.com is the way I need all the others set up, we have all the code for this site that I can provide to the designer.

7. are you guys serious about this whole once a week blog post on each of your sites. the one about the summaries of all the blogs. it's getting really annoying. every blog already blogrolls every other blog. you'd think you could spare us that spam post. it's pretty spammy if you ask me. you guys are thus the creators or RSS spam. shame on you.
