Newsarama recently picked up on some information regarding next year's batch of stamps from the USPS. Among them is this nice collection featuring DC's icons. A set of twenty, half the set features the iconic heroes themselves, the other half features an important cover from their own series. For something as important as this, I wish DC had commissioned the artists to draw up some work specifically for this size. Regardless, I like the choice of artists represented here except for the lack of Frank Miller's work. Though I'm a big fan of Jim Lee (here's a recent interview with the man), I think it would have been more suitable to include a Batman piece by Miller. For you Marvel fans, have no fear, their own set will be coming in 2007. I'm really glad this set is coming out, but the art director and I need to have a talk. Many of the non-cover stamps just doesn't sit well with me.
