It's really easy to just turn yourself off when you see people suffering thousands of miles away. Your daily life is unaffected other than the cost of gas rising. We all know it, I can't even look at the TV or the front page of newspapers without grimacing and quickly looking away. Every day, it gets worse for the people down there, and it shouldn't be that way.
